ReLeef

A Non-Profit Health Science Organization

The Releef Initiative is a non-profit pharmaceutical corporation. The basic approach of the organization is to operate as a “concept generator”, to develop new applications of old technology and leverage know-how and intellectual property in collaborations with for-profit companies. The organization is managed as a global network with representatives in US, Sweden and Russia. The corporate headquarter is in San Diego, California.

The Way We Work

The corporation operates as a virtual R&D organization, i.e. all research and development will be conducted by outsourcing. By working in this mode, Releef avoids time- and cash-consuming build-up and maintenance of internal infrastructure. The principal approach will involve development of new formulations and dosage forms of drugs that already have documented safety as well as re-positioning of old drugs, i.e. identify new disease areas for off-patent drugs that already have been extensively used.

Our Team

The organization has three principal constituents: its board of directors, it’s program management office, and the executive advisors. The Program Management Office (PMO) is ultimately responsible for the execution of operations and is maintained within The Releef Initiative. The project management approach employed by Releef is a stage-gated methodology streamlined to include five project management stages (phases) each ending with a specific decision point (gate).
